Meet Our Miracle Kids
P: 775-982-5545 | Foundation@Renown.org
At Renown Children’s Hospital, we celebrate the courage, determination, and resilience of our young patients.
Miracle Kids are current and former patients who have faced serious health challenges and inspire others with their strength and positivity. Their stories are shared through Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) programs to raise awareness, engage the community, and support fundraising efforts that directly benefit children and families in northern Nevada.
2026 Champion Child, LeAnne
At 15, LeAnne came to Renown Children’s Hospital with back pain and fainting, where doctors diagnosed her with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). She began treatment immediately and, after surgery, transfusions, and intensive chemotherapy, is now in the maintenance phase of care. Her final chemotherapy treatment is scheduled for August 12, 2026. LeAnne is regaining her strength, watching her hair grow back, and enjoying volleyball, arts and crafts, and her favorite candy—peach rings.

2026 Miracle Kid, Lane
Lane was born seven weeks early. At eight months old, he was diagnosed with infant B-cell ALL leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer. He spent many days in the hospital receiving treatment and stayed brave through it all. In 2024, Lane rang the cancer-free bell on his third birthday. Now fully in his toddler years, Lane loves bouncing at the trampoline park, racing toy cars, singing along to “Old McDonald,” and snacking on chocolate and Kit Kats.

2025 Miracle Kid, Gio
Gio’s journey began in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Renown Children’s Hospital, where he faced multiple health complications. Diagnosed with the rare CLOVES syndrome, he endured infections, surgeries, and setbacks. Renown’s Child Life specialists provided comfort and support while pediatric teams delivered specialized care. Today, Gio is a vibrant teenager embracing life with a smile.

2023 & 2024 Miracle Kid, Shaylie
Shaylie’s life changed after being hit by a car during a day at the park. Thanks to expert care at Renown Children’s Hospital and support from CMN donations, she made a remarkable recovery. Today, Shaylie is a joyful 10-year-old who loves making people laugh. Read press release.
