Our Certified Nurse Midwives help you through pregnancy, birth, and after your baby arrives. They offer support with less medical intervention and can also be with you during a hospital birth. Midwives focus on comfort and well-being, ensuring you and your baby are safe and healthy.

What Does a Midwife Do?

Midwives support the complete spectrum of women’s reproductive health, including:

• Prenatal & Pregnancy Care: Comprehensive first-trimester screenings, growth monitoring, nutrition guidance, and emotional support for holistic wellness .
• Childbirth Services: From home births to hospital deliveries, midwifery-led continuity of care often means a trusted provider attends your labor—leading to fewer unnecessary interventions and a higher likelihood of spontaneous vaginal birth.
• Postpartum & Newborn Support: Daily assessments, lactation consulting, perineal care, uterine involution checks, and early newborn exams ensure no detail is overlooked .
• Breastfeeding Support: On-site lactation consulting aligns with the West Coast model seen at institutions like Sutter Health and Providence, offering follow-ups, virtual visits, and community support groups.
• Family Planning & Gynecologic Care: Including contraception counseling, annual exams, STD screenings, and pelvic health services.
• Primary & Long-term Wellness: Managing common women’s health concerns like pelvic pain, peri‑menopausal changes, and overall well-being from adolescence through menopause.
