Position Purpose
Under the direction of the department leader, the incumbent reviews, develops, maintains, and reports appropriate unit charge information. Other responsibilities include coordination with Revenue Integrity Coordinator for required updates to the Charge Description Master (CDM).
Nature and Scope
The major challenges of this position are to ensure that the clinical documentation is present in order to support the charges that represent the services rendered.. It is important that automated processes are implemented where appropriate.
The incumbent will review clinical documentation pertinent to procedures, analyze the degree to which it is complete in order to support the charge for the procedure, and coordinate with Revenue Integrity Leadership to develop the presentation of data captured to ensure the information is accurate and understandable.
This position will have access to proprietary information. This mandates high standards of professionalism, communication, performance, and respect for confidentiality. The incumbent will adhere to Federal and State regulation standards to assure compliance with our standard billing and charging workflows.
Decisions that must be referred to the department leader are staffing and scheduling decisions to account for business needs, prioritization of projects assigned, changes in charges used or needed, release of confidential information and expenditures.
This position does not provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: | Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Requires an associate degree in business administration or computer science. Experience may substitute for required education on a year for year basis. |
Experience: | One year experience in a healthcare setting or environment required. Experience in clinical charge capture using an Epic Electronic Medical Record platform preferred. |

Computer / Typing: | Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. |
