Position Purpose
This position performs duties for the Renown Primary Care staff providers, utilizing the knowledge and skill within the context of the nursing process and theory of human caring. This position will provide necessary care to assist the patient to achieve and maintain health by the application of the nursing process in accordance with the Nevada State Board of Nursing. The incumbent would be an outstanding role model demonstrating all aspects of the Renown Health Standards of Conduct to a high level of competence. The nurse will support the Mission, Vision and Values of Renown Health.
Nature and Scope
The Medical Group Consulting RN is a member for the interdisciplinary team who is the pivotal person responsible for identifying the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of those patients and families needing assistance during normal business hours of the primary care clinics.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assesses the patient’s current health status and recommends appropriate level of care based on clinical judgement and evidence-based protocols.
• Adheres to ethical, legal, regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Assess and addresses clinical questions related plan of care via telephone or MyChart
• Manages utilization through education.
• Assesses consumer’s understanding of their condition and identifies potential care and/or provider gaps.
• Provides ongoing education to patients regarding their current health conditions.
• Provides post-acute follow-up via telephone.
• Assists in clinical quality initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
This position does provide patient care via telephone and MyChart.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: | Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. B.S. /B.S.N. preferred. |
Experience: | Minimum of one year of clinical experience in acute, ambulatory, or triage nursing care |
License(s): | Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered RN License |

Computer / Typing: | Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. |
