Position Purpose

The quality coordinator for the medical group is responsible for supporting quality and performance improvement initiatives, patient safety, accreditation/regulatory compliance and advancing evidenced-based practices.

 

 

 

Nature and Scope

The quality coordinator, functions as a subject matter expert and resource to facilitate the achievement of departmental and organizational goals in the following areas:

• Quality

• Patient safety

• Accreditation/regulatory compliance

 

This position requires collaboration with departmental leadership and providers.

 

Skills required:

• Ability to work independently and as a team

• Ability to build relationships

• Advanced communication and problem-solving skills

• Understanding of process improvement methodology

• Analytical skills necessary in order to develop and implement plans and evaluate effectiveness

• Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and accreditation agency standards

• Project management

Description

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field required, Master’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of two years of clinical, quality and/or relevant healthcare experience.

License(s):

None

Certification(s):

Certification as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
